How to add new field in existing DCR

To add new fiels in existing DCT, we use addOption and add a new field to the DCT. Can we add new field to existing DCR ?

1. The addOption() method makes use of the standard JavaScript Option object. This object has text and value properties to access the label and value of the option, respectively. The text of an option is the label the user sees in the form. The value of an option is the value that is saved in the DCR.

2. Not sure what you are trying to achieve on the existing Records but you can change elements of DCRs using the XML - DOM perl module.

I created records using a DCT. Later on a field was added to the DCT which was not there earlier. So the new DCR has one more fiels than old DCR. Now this is a necessary field and required for old fields also. I want to include this field in old DCR, how can I do that ?

It depends on what the contents / value of this field should be in those other DCRs? Is it something static or programmatically determinable? If so - you can programmatically parse and modify the DCRs (which are XML) to insert the field and its value)

If not - then you have to go through and edit each DCR manually and populate the field and save the DCR
