With a WFT - using either iwjobc or iwwft_compile.ipl
With a WFM - I believe you can use iwmodelc - though I haven't tried.

Alternatively there may be some CSSDK methods for doing so.

Ok .. i read ur replies in other threads and manged to create job and attach files etc .. Thanks .. now the question is how can i delete a "list" of files from the teamsite itsefl ( not detach from task). ? I know iwdeltaskfile is one utitlity but can we do using some perl modules like TeamSite::WFsystem ?

Sure, no reason why you can't write to /iwmnt

One thing that i doubt is that if u copy directly to /iwmnt file system then it will loose some EA and then we may need to run the command to enter those EA's

Something does not jive here. You've asked "Is it ok to copy files in to /iwmnt mounted file system from the local file system?"
Local Files do not have TS Metadata in the first place. You can not *loose* what you don't have

Perhaps be a little more clear about what you are trying to achieve so far you have asked how to create a job and also how to delete files, how does this relate to copying files into /iwmnt and maintaining EA's?

Best to detail the complete issue in a single post.

My apologies !

1. I am trying to create on perl script which will take "List of files" as Argument.

2. The files in the list reside on local File System of TS server.

3. Now Job should first chk if the files listed are in lock state in one specific Workarea. If NO then copy the files from local File system to TS Workarea. If YES then Fail.

4. If Files are not locked then create one job > copy the files in Workarea > Attache them to the job.

Now Rest i did only in Step 3 I need to chk if the files are in lock state and then copy to workarea.

I Agree as we dont have any Attributes associted before copying to TS But will it hamper Datastore in any way like corruption or something ?

I hope i am little more clear about req this time.

It should not be a problem to copy files to Workarea, rather that is what we always do (Import through UI). The only difference here is you are doing it through scripts.
