Visual Format inserts hostname into relative links

I think I have a deja vu or something...

Anyway, it's TeamSite 6.7.1 SP1, Linux 64-bit.

New Ektron control now inserts hostname (say, http://teamsite.com) for any relative links. Any attempts to remove it from the text fail, as it is re-introduced on next edit.

At the moment all our TPLs have been urgently modified to clean the output code however I'd like to know from Engineering, whether we are for a long run with this or there is anything short-term can be done to fix the issue....
And, of course, inexperienced users find it harder to cope with the URLs for the links.

UPDATE. yes, I saw the other posting. Looks like another unexpected gift ... (I mean I can charge for more hours to fix things...)....
