Unknown status of Content Instance

Hi Team

I am trying to get the published status of the content instance programatically .When i use DeploymentClient api(in standalone mode) it works for published/stale/unpublished states. But when the content instance is in UNKNOWN state(in VCM Console) we couldnt able to get the same state through API Call. It either says published/unpublished based on what job has been performed on it .Please let me know if there is there is a way to get the UNKNOWN status of a content instance through API??

we have a single delivery stage.

how can i check the published version of content instance on particular stage. Do the API supports extracting the unknown state as well?

Hey qutubuddin.

correction.. is not "published version". What i am looking out is, when a content instance is marked as "unknown" then i should be able to get its Published Status(which is UNKNOWN) using API.

Generally, when we publish the item and then the item fails to get published , we skip and resume the item from the queue so it brings the ci the state UNKNOWN. But when i call publishedStatus.isUnknown() it always returns FALSE.

Not sure what is going on.. Am i suppose to run this in VCM context(EJB) ??? i am currently running this program using a standalone application. Any help here would be highly appreciated.

The status you see displayed in the console is retrieved throughan internal API, which provides more detailed information than what is reportedthrough the public API DeploymentClient.getPublishedStatus(). I believe theonly values you will see through the pubic API are: INPROCESS, UNPUBLISHED,STALE and PUBLISHED.

Yes as you said , t he API is not letting us to access the UNKNOWN status of the content instance. But Can we use the internal/private API to get the UNKNOWN status. We need this to generate a report which is like a one-time job. Can you please let me know the internal API details if that helps in getting the unknown status of the asset.??
