Uploading a document to a milestone object

Hi,

We are running Interwoven Worksite 4.1 SP1 HF 9.
In the application we are currently capturing some values in milestone object ( using extended properties). The user would like to also upload a document to the same after keying in the above values.
The proposed solution of attaching a document to milestone by clicking on the MileStone-> Details -> Related Items was not accepted as this would only pick the document within Interwoven system.
User would like to upload a document similar to how they upload documents in document folder.

Any suggestions/workaround on the same would be appreciated.
