Working with Tasks

seesekar

I am new to MediaBin. I have a fundamental question. How do I upload an image in MediaBin? I have been given access to MediaBin client and in the left pane of the window I see - Media Database, Active Jobs, Recent Job History, Tasks, Tracking information, Metadata Manager, Association Manager.

I assumed that by using tasks I can upload images. Apparently it was not successful. I carried out the following steps.

I created a task using "Add Task" button in the toolbar.
I added the image using GIF decoder.
Then I saved it with Testing.jpg encoder.
The saved name ("Testing") and description ("Testing Continues") appears in the right page of the Windows Client.
When I double click on the image name ("Testing"), it opens a MediaBin Task Workspace and there is no image displayed.
I was expecting the image I saved to appear in the workspace.

I am new to MediaBin. Could someone help me with this problem.

I am sorry I bothered the forum members with this request. I had no clue how to upload images. I referred to the MediaBin Windoes client and found the answer.

I was able to upload my first image under the Media Database.

If someone has "MediaBin for Dummies" please forward.

Glad you figured it out. Unfortunately, there is no dummies books for MediaBin, we all stumble through it. It think it's like a "hazing" ritual when you become a MediaBin user.

Oh Stacy!

Only if people could read documentation before using stuff (in general). None of us do it Smiley Very Happy

In this case the MB Admin Guide would be a good starting point.

That's a useful advice.

There are atleast 14-15 documents you download from the support site. Most of us stumble as we do not know which document to start with.
Infact, I started reading the chapter 3 - Windows client in the Admin guide and this helped me figure out the baby steps to MediaBin.
