Any Limitation to use Content Relation Instance?

I am trying to design a content type to store data list, e.g. list of countries etc. The content type will have a nested relationship for each data entry.

+Country List

   - Austria

   - Bahrain

   - ...

 

I have another data list which has about 23,000 entries. I am wondering if there is any limitation for number of Content Relation Instance created inside a content instance, also any relator/relator CCE will paginate the Content Relation table.

A content relator with even a few hundred entries are difficultto use in real implementations. With thousands it will become unusable.

 

I would suggest some other mechanism to aggregate the content . Insteadof tight parent  ->  child relation did you consider child -> parentrelation via content select or db select widgets.
