V8 screen window screw up issue when server side validation gotta error

Hi,

One of our CTDs contains Ephox Editlive widget, and we have one listener to do server-side validation for a bunch of business rules. if we open or create a new content instance and click "save" button,when the server-side validation gotta error , it populates a message alert window, and I click "OK" button in the pop-up window, then the V8 Screen window gotta screw up, all buttons (save or save as) has no response on click, we are unable to close the screen window except refresh url through browser, then we lost everything we typed.

Our Vignette partner James provided a patch link ( https://knowledge.opentext.com/knowledge/llisapi.dll/fetch/2001/3551049/16715104/17584307/17584309/18346023/Vignette_Content_8.0_SP2_Release_Notes.html?nodeid=18372726&vernum=-2) that may fix this issue. we need your official confirmation to say this patch can fix this issue.

And we are very appreciated for any suggestion.

Poor James, it looks that you don't trust him too much.

If he is reading this forum he won't be very happy to read your email, will he ?

Anyway, the problem is that the validation alert goes behind the elj applet and so the editor looks frozen because it is waiting that you press an ok button that you cannot press.

I think that you should apply the latest patch to the system, for this and for many other reasons.

Hi Mario,

Glad to see your reply again, thanks a lot for your advice. James did a great job but we have him only one day per week now. for the urgent business, applying a new patch could spend us months, the management may hesitate to making this decision.

If there are any quick way to fix this problem without installing the big patch, that will save us lots of time.
