Auto Numbering of newly created custom pages

I am trying to setup auto numbering for pages which are based on custom CTD. The field that needs to be auto numbered is the name of the page itself and hence it is not an ATD. Suppose that the name of the most recent page is No0102. When the next page is created, the name should automatically be numbered as No0103 and so on.

Is it possible to add a DB query (sql) to fetch the latest value of the name field to perform this auto numbering or is there a better approach?

Collab version is 7.2.3 and DB is Oracle RAC 10g.

Please confirm what are you numbering? The easiest thing to do would be to add a custom attribute that can be incremented. When you say “pages”, what are you specifically refering to?
