The following application error(s) occurred: The property sheet specification did not have a type.
Please check your property sheet specification in the config console’s type specification registry

Hi,
Did you get a chance to look at the VCM Server runtime logs (VgnVCMx-vcmruntime.log) to see which property page the system fails to load and why. Also, do you have some customizations deployed / a patch applied of late?
Regards, Shilpa
Hi Karthic,
Can you please give me the property sheet path in config console ?
Vignette Configuration Console > Vignette Content > Vignette Content Management Services > Vignette Management Console > Service Provider Framework > Type Specification Registry > Customer Extension Type Specification Registry
Inside this, check every entry and if you find any entry named “Channel”, please check the xml variable. The property tag should be proper with the required attributes.
Before this, as shilpa said, check the VCMServer logs if you can get some clue

Verified the property tag with all required attributes, all stuffs are looking good. Error also not found in VCMServer logs. But still the same error (the property sheet specificationdid not have a type) exist. Please let me know your thoughts.
Check if you have specified the “type” attribute for the property sheet tags…. In that XML… If so, make sure the fully qualified name is right

Currently we are using V8 version, here in property sheet, the "class" name given in the "type" attribute is looking like abstract class.
But in previous code (V7), it looking like normal class. Is it give any issue ?
I have tested the channel properties once after remove the “type” attribute from the property sheet tags…. In that XML from the given path. But still getting the same issue.
Can you let me know is any other configuration require ?
Path:
Vignette Configuration Console > Vignette Content (P) > Vignette Content Management Services > Vignette Management Console > Service Provider Framework > Type Specification Registry > Customer Extension Type Specification Registry > Channel
I guess you are talking about the custom type specification. If I am right, then correct the class name. You can compare this class name with the class name of the property sheet which is currently working

Of course, one cannot instantiate an abstract class. Which sheet/class are you talking about ?M

In V7, we used the given command-spec in Property sheet. But in V8 the code not avilable for class files. Is any alternative command-spec (class) available in V8 ? <command-spec id="doRefererRemove" type="com.vignette.otm.widgets.odr.struts.action.OTMObjectDescriptorRemoveAction"/> <command-spec id="doRefererPublish" type="com.vignette.otm.widgets.odr.struts.action.OTMObjectDescriptorPublishAction"/> <command-spec id="doRefererUnpublish" type="com.vignette.otm.widgets.odr.struts.action.OTMObjectDescriptorUnpublishActio
I have not used V8. So I don’t knowL
But, one thing I guess your error is because of the wrong type specification.
