iwfsck error

Hi,

Our Env is TS 5.5.2/Solaris 8

We are trying to migrate our backing store to a new server and trying to run iwfsck on the store.
A back up of the store in the current server was untarred on the new server in an alternate location /local/iwfsck and the following command was run.

# nohup /usr/iw-home/private/bin/iwfsck -d -b /local/iwfsck > /local/iwfsck.log

It returns the following error.

Error, unable to open backing store: /local/iwfsck

The FORMAT directory contents are invalid, or your backing store path may be wrong.

It complains about a FORMAT directory which obviously is not present in the backing store.

Have anyone encountered this error before or any idea what this FORMAT directory is about?

I'm not sure - but try the following:

# nohup /usr/iw-home/private/bin/iwfsck -d -b /local/iwfsck/default > /local/iwfsck.log

What is the target server/version that you are trying to migrate? If you are trying to migrate to higher version of teamsite then I guess three are intermediatory steps to do that because .. i guess that 552 content cannot be directly migrated to 6.5.

Any one, correct me if i am wrong.

Thanks for your replies. The issue was resolved by Iwov support. The final command used was this:

/usr/iw-home/private/bin/iwfsck -d -nofmtchk -b /local/iwfsck/default > /local/iwfsck.log

And yes, the target server is also TS 5.5.2/Solaris 8.

I do hope you're planning to upgrade soon - 5.5.2 is ancient and no longer officially supported (you got help on this case probably because the issue was relatively generic)
