Custom validation/display in V8 SE

Hi,

We have used Custom JSP URI and addToPreSubmitFunctions(customfunction); in most of our CTDs to do custom validation and display of certain widgets based on selection from say Radio Button widget in V7 SE. As we are converting all of our CTDs to V8 SE, would like to know the equivalent of the same in V8 SE.

Hi Selvi,

This is a little more general question on your specific implementation. It is difficult to suggest anything without understanding what function your custom JSP is peforming and also what are your validation requirements i.e. are these cross widget or only on single widget etc.

The only suggestion would be to go back to the drawing board and look at your requirements (intents for doing the customization) and see how best to implement it in V8 instead of "converting" your V7 solution to V8.

Hi Selvi,

It looks like the sample that Vignette provides uses a custom JS validation routine where you can create vui.vcm.ui.editor.widget.validator.Validator objects and push them into the validators object. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be any documentation on those.

Have you tried using the capabilities in Ext JS? Using the sample:

var text = new vExt.form.TextField({
  autoCreate: autoCreateConfig,
  id:'<%= fieldId %>',
  cls: 'vui-widget-input-text vui-field-large',
  name:'<%= fieldId %>',
  value:'<%= value %>',
  hideMode: 'display',
  readOnly: <%= readOnly %>,
  allowBlank : false
});

That may work.
