I need to archive some files. is it possible to archive outside of teamsite server?

I need to archive some files. is it possible to archive outside of teamsite server under some folder? will the versioning be lost after archiving?

Could you be more clearer like what do you want to archive & wht is the scenario (condition) under which these are archived. Once you talk of archiving do you want to delete these files (files being archived) from the TS system

they are html files and are required to be deployed to another system from teamsite. initially in teamsite they will be under a specific folder. I am concerned about archiving them after deploying. and yes deleting them after archiving. hope this helps. thanks in advance..

For this you could use opendeploy to move content from one system to another from one location on TS system to your desired directory structure or if you dont care anything about the properties & external attribs of the files then you can move files in whtever way you prefer to.

I am concerned about archiving them after deploying.

Now this depends on your answer of how you want to move your files between servers once you have that answered what scenario you want these files to be archived based on this you can come up with your own script to have the desired result

You mean deleting these html files from TS (hoping this is what you mean) if so do you want to delete the dcr too from the TS system that were used to create the htmls.

It would help if environment details would also be included in posts.

thanks. yes i mean deleting from teamsite...deleting is not my concern. my concern is, is there any way we can archive file(any file) in teamsite. If so, what are the possible ways? I think whatever you mentioned, i.e script..that will help. thank you.

You can archive the files using any tools that you have. scp, ftp, OpenDeploy. If you will ever need to get these files back in Teamsite then also run iwextatt and archive the output of this. If these files were created by Templates you will also need to archive the DCRs (corresponding XML).

You can also archive all your Teamsite content by archiving the output of this command iwgetstore. This will create a snapshot in time of your entire content in Teamsite (DCRs, Templates, etc and outputted FIles). you need to run iwfreeze before you do this

now it is upto you how you would want to go abt have an Perl code (custom script) written to do all wht **** has mentioned for that you should have the Master role and meanwhile you need to configure OD config files (referring OD admin guide would be helpful) for doing this.
