How to configure workflow in Mediabin

Hi,

I have to demonstrate a 2 step workflow where the image on insertion is going through an insertion task, then approved by the Creative User group and made available for all user groups for consumption.

Does MediaBin 4.6.1 support workflow. If so, how do I configure workflow in the tool.

MediaBin & Work flow

MediaBin does not come with any work flow option like Teamsite

( I hope the future releases may come with work flow option)

But you have two options

i) You can Integrate (TeamSite) Workflow with MediaBin

Refer 2005 gearUp Prsentaion

.

ii) You have to implement the business requirement using folder structure and hot folder

( we are trying achieve the BR instead of using the WF)

Let me explain the (ii) option

Your Requirement

“image on insertion is going through an insertion task, then approved by the
Creative User group and made available for all user groups for consumption.”

If I analysis your requirement

User – insert images using insertion task

User – review & approval

System – making the asset available in other folders.

You can design the BR as follows

Step-I User–– insert images using insertion task

Step-II User– Email the asset as link Using MB

Step-III Approver – Approver received the email / log into MB and review it

Step-IV Approved – Approver copy/move the asset to tmp folder

Step-IV Rejected –– Approver Using MB , email back to the sender for further change

Step-V if the asset in temp folder - copy to different folder using hot folder

(note:- learn how you use hot folders to copy assets with in MB)

Note :
your folder structure and folder permission should design according to the BR

There is no simple 2 way step available to demonstrate workflow in MB..
