Collab Functionality Questions

Hi,

Just two small questions.

- Currently through advanced search there is an option to search for documents via approval status (in process, approved, etc). However is there a way to search for documents that have no had the approval process enabled (eg, where the approval status attribute doesn't exist)?

- Is it possibly to search for embedded links within a wiki or document? (We are trying to locate all references to a document after it has been deleted, so that these can be removed).

Hi Eddie,

1. It’s a little more difficult to search for attributes that don’t exist. For finding documents that aren’t versioned, you can pick a version attribute, say “ITS_VersionSelected”, search for “*” in that attribute. Make sure you narrow the object type to documents and perform the search. Obviously, you’re returned versioned documents. In the URL, add “&O6=not” and submit the URL. This time, it should return documents that aren’t versioned. You may wish to narrow the document type down to certain extensions as I’m sure a lot of documents will be returned.

2. It is possible to search for documents linked in a document. For a document linked by: http://servername/gm/document-1.1.1/SampleDocument.txt, we were able to find the document references using “document-1.1.1/SampleDocument.txt” as an exact search phrase in Advanced Search. Of course, this means you would need to know the oid and filename of the document. This presumes that you know something about the document.
