Email Task

Hi,

I'm using Workflow Modeler 1.0.0.0 trying to send email to user. I tried using iw_solution_email.ipl and then iwsend_email.ipl but both returned me the same error:

Failure to send Email: A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond.

Is it because of my mail server (using smtp port 26), or is there any config/setting in teamsite that I missed out? Btw, I did specify my maildomain and mailserver name in iw.cfg.

Did you try sending mail by executing "iwsend mail" in command promt?

Is it using the command... "iwsend_mail.ipl -b path-to-message-file -t recipient-email-id"?

I did try, but receive the same error

The default SMTP port is 25 not 26 - are you sure your SMTP server is listening on port 25?
If you try using iw_solution_email.ipl and enable both $DEBUG and $VERBOSE - you can then look at the log file created in IWHOME/tmp - which among other things will include a verbose transcript of the attempted interaction with the SMTP server. It is possible that your SMTP server isn't set up to accept requests from your TS server. If so - you need to take that up with whomever maintains your SMTP server.

I'm not sure I want to know why your SMTP server is using a non-standard port -- however, that being said, you could try defining your SMTP server as: servername:587 and maybe the underlying modules that perform the actual mail sending will notice that you have a port affixed to the server name and use that instead of the default.

I have not tried this - it's just a guess after having looked at the perldoc for Mail::Mailer, Net: Smiley Frustrated
