Need to clear cache through API call on content query portlet using JSP override

We have a DPM site that uses a managemment stage where users add/edit content and a delivery (production) stage where content is viewed only. This DPM site has a page that contains a content publisher portlet with a JSP override. On this JSP, we wish to add an API call that kills the cache so that newly added content is displayed instantly on the delivery stage.

Does anyone know of any such API call?

Hi,

I have used this and it worked. From the API class: RequestContext

setNoCache

public void setNoCache(boolean noCache)

Sets the flag to denote if the rendered content should be cached or not. Can be used in the views (XSL/JSP) to turn off the html fragment cache for the respective region in case of erroneous scenarios. Example JSP view code : RequestContext rc = PageUtil.getCurrentRequestContext(pageContext); try{ XXXXX }catch(Exception ex){ rc.noCache(true); //set the custom message reflecting the problem }

Will this depreciate the performance of the System ? . We have a scenario where a DPM Port let renders Content but we have a lot of Caching Issues. Is there something called as Smart Cache system which will resolve these Issues.

Hi,

We have used this only for a single portlet, with pagination. For the amount traffic we get, I did not see much difference in performance. Our caching mechanism is OOTB.

What are the different Ways we can cache a system ?

Is there any KB You can recommend me. We have set the Default Cache and the also Configure through the Query Component with TTL.

Other than these any suggestions ?
