Publishing issue after upgrade to 8.1

Hi Everyone,

 

Recently we upgraded our development environment from VCM 7.5 to 8.1 (cumulative patch) [OS – Linux, DB - Oracle]. After upgrade publishing a single item is pulling in around 8000 items in to the job, but the same item in 7.5 is pulling in around 10-15 items. Have any one see similar issue like this? Or any pointer would be helpful.

 

We have set variable “DEPLOYMENT_SUPPRESS_ANCESTORS” value to “true” which is a fix for one of the publishing issues in 8.1 which is different than this issue.

Hi Uday,

   In 8.0, lot more Managed objects got added to the CPS (Regions/CIPages/PageLayouts/RegionLayouts/Themes etc). So the no. Of objects that may get pulled along in 8.1 in comparison to 7.5 could be more depending on what is actually being published and what kind of relations does it hold with other objects. But in any case, pulling 8K seems to be a huge no. Can you provide more details onto what is the object thats being published and what were seen earlier being published and the stuff that you see now being published ?
