Hi,
There is no dependency w.r.t number of slashes in the Friendly Name.
I don’t see anything wrong technically.
Did you try clearing the cache and try again OR creating / accessing a new Friendly Name say /xyz ?.
Thanks and Regards,

Hi All,
I am having issues configuring furl
These were the steps i followed:
1> I went into /Workbench/Friendly URLs
2> I added a new Friendly URL and put the friendly name as
Friendly Name : /abc/def
Target : URL
URL:
http://xyz.com.au/ghi/aaa?module=bbb&view=ddd
3> I went into the browser and typed in
http://xyz.com.au/abc/def in the address bar.
4> furl redirected me to the appropriate location and it worked as expected.
5> I then tried configuring a new friendly url:
Friendly Name : /abc
6> I went into the browser and typed in
http://xyz.com.au/abc in the address bar.
7> furl forwarded me into an unknown location.
BAsically the business requirement is to get into hte appropriate location by
just putting in
http://xyz.com.au/abc and that does not work till now.
is the mapping redirect url dependent on the number of slashes i put in hte friendly name? Do they have to be the same?
Thanks,
Ayan

Thanks for replying.
Do we need to clear the dpm cache? Would the furl cache get cleared if we clear the dpm cache or are the separate?
BTW,
the log output for the instance when it works is
[2011-09-09 15:06:08,208][DEBUG][com.vignette.ext.furl.cache.URLMappingCacheImpl] - Mapping obtained from the cache for friendlyURL:/<site>/abc/def. Mapping=/abc/def=com.vignette.ext.furl.javabean.MappedUrl@1f9aa3
and
for the instance when it does not work is
[2011-09-09 15:00:51,168][DEBUG][com.vignette.ext.furl.cache.URLMappingCacheImpl] - Mapping obtained from the cache for friendlyURL:/BupaP3/abc. Mapping=null
Any ideas what controls that?
Hi
Yes, FURL cache gets cleared with the DPM cache.
Remove the contents from “<install>\vcm\inst-test\cfgagent\vcm-test\cdsvcs\stage-mgmt\cds-mgmt\as\dpm\cache\ObjectCache” folder.

furl.external.relativeurl.forward=true from generic resource but it still forwards me to an unknown location when i want it to redirec. Is it a furl defect or am i the only one having this problem? Thanks,Ayan
Can you please give FURL version details ?. is it a OOTB FURL ? The property you have mentioned below doesn’t exist in OOTB FURL.
