How to differentiate CI window and its relator windows?

Hi,

We have added a custom button in the CIF rendering JSP. It is supposed appear only on the content item window, but it is appearing on the relator windows(child windows which we open using "Add" button ...etc) also. How to restrict this?

Do we have any way to differentiate the content item window and its childs?

I assume that your problem is to build a custom CIF in V7 and I also assume that you have noticed that when you set a custom jsp in the content type definition, this jsp is used for both the top relation and every nested relation form.

To build an effective CIF, one might need to differentiate, as in your case, when the form is used for the top relation or for a relator form.

The best is to insert this code snippet at the beginning of any V7 CIF

PropertyPage propertyPage = PropertyUtils.getPropertytPage(request);

//this is the content instance

ContentInstance ci = (ContentInstance)propertyPage.getAttribute(COEConstants.COE_CONTENT_INSTANCE_KEY);

//this is the current relation

ContentRelationInstance ao = (ContentRelationInstance) request.getAttribute(RelatorWidget.PARENT_RELATION_ATTRIBUTE);

//get the relationname if you want to build different CIFs for each relation

String relationName = null;

if(ao != null) {

//in this case you are in the relator form case

relationName = ao.getRelationName();

}

//and now you can build different outputs

if(relationName = null){

} else if("pippo".equals(relationName)){

} else if("pluto".equals(relationName)){

}
