File Alternate widget

Hi,

We are using "File Alternate" widget in VCM V7.3.1.1. Now we are migrating to V8.0. I was referring to the document "VMCExt Widget Upgrade Guide" where it suggests how to upgrade the widget.

In the document it tells to add five Extensible Attributes to "StaticFile" Ojject, but I do not see "Attributes" tab itself in the StaticFile OTD. How will I be able to add extensible attributes.

Any suggestion in this will be appreciated.

Why are you migrating to 8.0.1 when 8.1 is available ?

This is an extremely bad idea.

Anyway, to manage extensible attributes on StaticFile you need OTM which is bundled in the product with 8.1 and it is part of appsvcs-extensions-801 (aka Content Workspaces Extensions 8.0.1) for VCM-8.0.1

You should be able to add extensible attributes on an ObjectType using OTM – Object Type Modeler.

The pdf that you have attached has the information (in the TimeStamp Widget section) on where to get these extensions:

A V8 version of the Timestamp widget has been released as part of the Workspace Extensions for VCM 8.0.x available for download from the Knowledge Centre: https://knowledge.opentext.com/knowledge/llisapi.dll/open/WEM_Extensions The Content Workspaces Extensions for VCM 8.0.x package also includes the Object Type Modeler, Ephox with Inline Tags Widget and Drop Down Management extension. If the scripts provided with the software are used to build and deploy it, all extensions will be deployed.

Thanks for your reply.

Mario, We will be moving to 8.1 soon. By the time we move to 8.1, I want to make sure that the vmcext widgets are configurable and are working. That is the reason I posted this while we are using V8.0.

I will look into this and will reply back if I need any futher help.
