iwgen issue

Hi All,

I have a situation with me, it goes like this.

I am trying to generate a two files out of one DCR (DCR name: test and tpls namely: primary.tpl & fragment.tpl). I have written a snippet in primary.tpl file which should invoke command to generate another file using fragment.tpl, as mentioned in the attached file.

I am working on TS6.1/Sol9, and I really wonder if this is applicable in this version or not.

Could someone please help me in rectifying this issue?

One of us is very confused.

It *appears* that you run (basically) run iwpt_compile with DCR1, using PT1 and output to OUTFILE1. During the PT1 execution, you are running iwpt_compile with DCR1, PT2 and OUTFILE1 again.

Thus it looks like you are writing to the same file with 2 processes. That dog don't hunt (as some of my redneck friends say).

Learn iw_ostream. You can combine 2 TPLs into 1 and use that to generate 2 output files.

thanks for your suggestion and quick response on the query. Idea behind creating 2 output file from one DCT and 2 TPLs, is to have both the output file generated on different location. Though I gone through with one the KB 17615, but really did not get the actual idea of how to use iw_ostream with two different TPLs.

Could you please provide me a solution where two TPLs are used to create output file with an iw_ostream?

You combine the 2 TPLs or use iw_include pt="otherPT"

You can do it the way you've tried as well. Your iwgen command is totally wrong though. If you are on UNIX
why do you use reverse slash in the path? You also have stray spaces there, etc... As pointed by Andy, you
should also use different output File Path (you are trying to generate different asset with another PT, aren't you?)

my $tpl_file=iwpt_get_pt_name();

my $tpl_file_dealer=$tpl_file."\\fragment.tpl";

Could you check these two lines... $tpl_file will have something like

/this/is/a/presentation_template/xyz.tpl

is this correct. If so $tpl_file_dealer will have

/this/is/a/presentation_template/xyz.tpl/fragment.tpl

Correct me if wrong
