Hi,
We recently upgrade from 7.3.1 to VCM 8.0 SP2. We used to use some custom code from the old Site In a Box framework to create content instances and automatically associate a channel to the content instance. It looks like the code was relying on a custom type registry extension of a ContentInstance to override the persistor with a class named ObjectEditorPersistorExt. In that class, there was a method named saveChannelAssociations that would associate the channels to the content instance. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to be working in 8.
We have added the customization into the type registry again, but it seems like the class is not being invoked. It looks like there is a class named ContentItemPersistor that is getting called. So, that's the first question... why isn't our custom class getting invoked?
The second question is... the new class seems to have similar code as the previous Site In a Box customization but it is not associating the channel to the content instance. Has anyone else used this class and was there anything else that needs to be configured to make this work?
Thanks,
Eric
Here is the property sheet customization:
<property-sheet
title="${TXT_LBL_SHEET_GENERAL}"
width="640"
height="480"
context="/coe"
url="/secure/sheets/COE-objecteditor.jsp"
type="com.vignette.as.ui.cm.coe.struts.form.ObjectEditorSheet"
persistor-type="com.vignette.widgets.select.ObjectEditorPersistorExt"
on-submit="doObjectEditorSubmit"
display-weighting="0">
<script>/secure/sheets/COE-submit-handler.js</script>
<command-spec id="doRelatorRemove" type="com.vignette.as.ui.cm.coe.struts.commands.RemoveRelatorRowCommand"/>
<required-capability>VCM:CONTENT_INSTANCE_READ</required-capability>
</property-sheet>
P.S. There are no errors in the logs mentioning missing classes or anything. The content instance is saved but the channel is just not associated to the instance.
