how to configure for JVM

Hi,

i have faced that JVM error when i open website web component. Please see attached for the screen shot. Please point me the way in order to fix these.

Looks like you are having issue with JVM version. You would need to install minimum JVM version mentioned by the error dialogue box you have in your first image and this jvm would go on your client machine whoever is facing this issue. For steps involved in installing JVM googling would be the best option.

We had issues with JRE 1.6.x on some of the desktops that the users ended up upgrading on. It's weird as it doesn't give the applet error after login but things like check-out page and document details page have information missing. For the former, you would see a couple of fields missing and that page is completely rendered useless. On document details page, we didn't see the Download button anymore.
I suggest to either go back to 1.4.2.x as it says or you could try going to 1.5.x as well as that seems to work.

Also, one important thing, make sure you do the uninstall/reinstall of JREs carefully as in some cases it doesn't do a clean one and even after the downgrade your browser doesn't register the new JRE correctly.

In environments where you "need " to have two java versions installed you will need to tweak your system. After installing a new version or updating an existing version you will need to:

1) Navigate to the 1.4.2 JRE directory (default is in program files) and open the old control panel file in the bin directory. JPICPL32.exe

2) Using this old control panel, set the browser java from default to the 1.4.2 version.

3) Restart any open browsers.

This will allow MP4 to have access to the supported java via IE and all other programs to use the latest version.

A clear mashup, but what else is there to do?

I guess live with only selecting one file at a time. Smiley Wink

We have used MS JVM for a while, but are working on the transition to the Sun version. I received the same popup, and in the browser check, it didn't recognize any Java (worksite..com). When going to a different domain (wsadmin..com) it worked fine; multiple file loads/DL, etc. Using Microsoft ISA server 2006 with worksite..com apparently blocked some applet communication. You could try going directly to the port, or changing some browser settings maybe?
