Does OD receiver License needed?

Could any one clarify whether OD(6.1.1) receiver license is needed to deploy from Base server(has license) to receiver server(no license) in the same domain?

I went thru' the forum and i got that it is mandatory. But for me without receiver license, base is deploying to receiver. Is it due to both the servers are in same domain?

Please clarify, i am confused here.

If it is was installed newly it will do it for few weeks and then it will start giving warning messages in logs before we actually get the license for the receiver too.

I think they work for one month before they stop working, when they can recieve only deployments required for licensing

Yup, you get a 1 month grace period, then the license is required.
