Do we need to make any config changes to see the status of DA from the configuration console.

Normally not. You can see the DA status through the config console by right-clicking the DA icon and selecting status. The only time this will not work is if the DA is encrypted (by default it's not) and you don't have the security certificate installed. so you'd need to install the certificates into your browser, then use https to view the DA status (see WEM Admin guide for details on installing the security certs). However, the CA is the only process that is encrypted by default.

You may also view the status of a DA directly through xml, csv, frame, html:

http://<vcmserver>:<DA port>/vgnstatus/<view mode> for example to see the DA in a nice frame output:

http://<mywemserver>:<myDAPort>/vgnstatus/frame

You can use frame, xml, csv, or html output.
