Add a New Version Button on Content Input Form

Hi, I am hoping to get some guidance here on adding a "New Version" button on "Content Input Form" (CIF), so that user doesn't have to click the "Versions" tab, and then "New Version". I am able to get the jsp, defaultcif.jsp, from the content type defination page, and found it in vgn-wcm-up.war. However, it doesn't seem to have "OK", "Cancel", "Apply", "Publish" buttons, which I thought I could simply add a "New Version" button to bring up the new version page. Am I looking at the right place to do this? Is my approach correct, or I should look further into another page embeded page?

I tried to overwrite the "Default Buttons for ContentInstance" under "Custom
Extension View Template Registry" through config console by adding a "New Version" button in the XML, but that didn't make the change for me either.

Any help would be most welcome!

Hi, there are a few ways to do this but it depends on the version you're using (V7 or V8). In V7 you can define this button in the SPF using the config console, in V8 it's done quite differently by adding a new element in the spring framework. Let me know which version and I'll send a detailed explanation on how to do this.
