Error after ts 6.7.1 sp1 install

After upgrading our 6.7.1 version of Teamsite to sp1, when we try to edit any file that requires it be brought locally we get the following error, "Java is not available on this machine. Please contact your administrator."

Clients are running java 1.4.2_05, works fine on my dev region laptop i have admin rights to.

But our restricted client production machines with the same java version running are getting the error.

Interwoven is recommending upgrading java, but this is not a trivial push for us and why since it already works fine in our dev environment?

Anyone run into this error?

All I got from Interwoven support was a recommendation to install jre1.5 aka 5.0. Funny thing is Sun said that 5.0 is on end of life and is being transitioned out to v 6.0, ugh.
