Can anyone provide how best we can implement personalization mechanism in vignette portal.
Hi, this is a big subject and I'd also add that there's much available in the DPM/DSM integration that allows a high degree of personalization in Portal. Are you using VCM/WEM for your CMS? If so, there are a number of parameters you can use in your presentation and components that make page variations very dynamic (based on, for example: ldap group, user preferences, user attributes, time of day, day of week, cookies, language settings, browser settings, browser types, and many many others).
If you can outline what you'd like to achieve we can provide details on how to accomplish and even provide training applications and videos that show these steps needed.

and even without a CMS in the mix you can achieve a high degree of page variation and personalization using the ootb portal components and tag libraries. The Portal Administration and Development Guides on Knowledge will give you more details as well.
