validation-regex -> Possible to change error message?

is it possible to change the standard error text when using a validation-regex attribute (on TeamSite 6.7.1 SP1 Solaris 10)?

The FormsPublisher api and dev pdfs are silent about this.

Instead we use to put our own customised script which gives alert in case of any validation conflict.

There is no specific regex validation error message. What you see is a single generic error message that applies to
all invalid fields in the Form. If you want to, you can manipulate it using FormAPI, see for example [thread=22625]this[/thread] thread.

Ok guys, thanks for helping - I implemented an event handler in addition to the validation-regex which gives the user a more useful error message.

Please close the thread if your issue is resolved. Also, it would have been great if you could have shared the solution you adopted instead of just mentioning an event handler..

I think, the IWDatacapture.displayMessage API would have been of help here..unless you used something else..
