SSl on secondary page not working with Apache http server

We are using Vignette portal and have enabled SSL for one of our login secondary page and it is working fine as expected by using the Url of our Jboss Application server on which the Vignette portal is deployed.

When we are using Apache http server for redirecting the requests to Jboss Application server SSL is not working and certificate is not downloaded also we are getting "page cannot be displayed " message when using the login secondary page.

Please suggest?
