Contact Portlet Details

We have a number of Contact Portlets that allow our members to send an email to the appropriate staff member. The email address is entered in the Details page for the Portlet. Can anyone tell me where this information is actually stored?

We have had 2 or 3 instances of the email adress reverting to an old address and we are trying to track dow what might have caused that.

Before poking around in the database, is this a clustered environment or single node? If it's clustered, does the contact information show up differently depending upon which node you hit?

Yes, it is a 2 server clustered environment. However, we've already made the corrections in the portal console so I don't know if before that the 2 servers may have been using different contact portlet email addresses.

What we're trying to figure out is why this changed? Was it some deployment?

Hi Jim.

If we're having a cluster problem, this should be pretty simple to test. Just make a change to one of the nodes and see if it gets reflected on the other.

This is probably a custom portlet type, correct? It does not sound familiar to me. Can you give me more information about it? If it is custom, I can help only so much in certain areas as I do not know how the portlet is designed and how it operates. Has this portlet worked in the current environment before and just stopped working suddenly or is it newly added?

Thanks. The problem does not seeem to be that it is getting updated on one server and not the other. The problem seems to be that the "Send Email To" field on the Details page was reset mysteriously to a previous value. We're trying to track down how that might have gooten reset.

Human error?
Some deploy that overwrote some config file?

If that field value is stored in a database then we would like to niknow how that database was changed.

Hello Jim

This is not an out-of-the-box portlet, so I cannot be certain of where this information is stored. If it is stored in the database, it is conceivable that an overwrite occurred during a redeployment. However, we cannot ever rule out the possibility that someone simply changed the value manually. As this is a custom portlet, I am unaware of the permissioning and security of the property and who would have access to change it.
