configure Dynamic Portal

Hello.

I'm a newb in the OT knowledge base.
Sorry for my english. I'm not sure if my corresponding is correct.

I'm trying to configure Dynamic Portal as a preview server.

Our configuration:
Windows Server 2008 R2
Oracle DB
WEM 8.1
OT Portal 8.2 was installed on individual weblogic.

All of steps for setting up Dynamic Portal were made as described in the documentation.

WEM 8.1 and Portal 8.2 uses openLDAP for storing their users and groups.

All of tests was done successful on Portal side: /vgnTASDiag test and /vgn-ext-templating/vgnTest.jsp

I can see the "Content Publisher Portlet 2.0" and "Item Publisher Portlet 2.0" in Portlet Types, etc.
Dynamic Portal was configured within configconsole as described in the documentation. Preview Server was registered as a preview server in wem.

Further i created a test site in WEM AppConsole. Matching site was created in a Portal with a grid, styles and pages.

Now, when I click the "Preview" button in the content application i see a message "Please sign in to WEM through the server running your preview enviroment".

Could you show/explain me where did i wrong set up? Where can i find settings which shall helps me to configure dynamic portal properly?

When you have created your WEM Site, you would have selected a Application Instance on the Site configuration. Each Application Instance will be associated with a host/port. Check your WEM Site’s configured App Instance and its relevant port.

Looks like you are not logged into WEM Site using that port.

For logging to both WEM and Portal i use one user who is registered within external openLDAP.

Hi,

This is not a problem of settings or configuration but of functionality.

What you need to do is to access the WEM console through the preview server, just as explained by the message. This might seem a big cryptic at first, I agree. What it really means is that instead of using the WEM host and WEM port:

http://win2008:27110/AppConsole

... you need to access through the preview Portal host and port:

http://win2008:80/AppConsole

... thanks to the magic of TAS, you will be able to work on your WEM console as if you were using its own port. When you click on preview there, the application will then be able to build the proper URL and show you the page if the rest of the configuration is ok.

So, i have one question: Can we use embedded LDAP (VgnLDAPRealm) instead of openLDAP?

yes, embedded ldap is supported. If you'd like I can recommend some excellent training courses that will get you the knowledge you need to develop and administer dynamic portal using WEM 8.1 presentation objects:

i have redirected the storage of portal users to vgnLDAPRealm. it was easy to set up and it works too! exelent! I like WEM and Portal more and more.
