Buffer not flushing
Mr_Cruise
TeamSite 6.7.2 SP1
OS: Windows
Dear All,
We are trying to upgrade from TeamSite 6.5 to TeamSite 6.7.2.
We have hit a major snag as the custom reports, written in Perl, are failing. Normally the report show a progress bar and this is assisted by disabling the buffer.
We have the following code in the script:-
$| = 1; # When running as a CGI, you need to turn off output buffering
I understand from another thread the Apache version has changed and you cannot disable the buffer.
Can someone please help as we do not have time to re-write over 3K lines of code!!!!?
Many thanks
Lee

I think there is something called "rflush" which can be used instead of $|=1; at Apache level. You'll have to dig it out.
Do post the solution when you find it.

We opened an Interwoven..oops..Autonomny support case and you basically need to disable compression for Perl scripts.
Update the following file
\iw-webd\conf\compress.conf
Change the following line from:
# Don't compress images
SetEnvIfNoCase Request_URI \.(?:gif|jpe?g|png|ico)$ no-gzip dont-vary
To:
# Don't compress images
SetEnvIfNoCase Request_URI \.(?:gif|jpe?g|png|ico|ipl)$ no-gzip dont-vary
Then restart apache or issue iwreset -ui to be on the safe side. Please note if your perl scripts have the 'cgi' extension, that you will also need to exclude this.
