how to get path/filename inside the nextgen tagger ui form?

How to get the path and filename of the file - which i am going to tag using File>>Tag - inside the nextgen tagger ui form?

I tried all the APIs specified in formapi-developers-guide pdf but they returns null or empty string.
IWDatacapture.getDCRPath();
IWDatacapture.getDCTPath();
IWDCRInfo.getDCRName();

Basically i need to get a handle of the file so that i can somehow get the attributes like modification data etc

In the next gen TagUI use this: IWDatacapture.getFilePath(). It replaces / deprecates IWDatacapture.getDCRPath().

I tried IWDatacapture.getFilePath(); and it gives me a javascript error - "Object doesn't support this property or method"

We are using the following version...
Version: Interwoven TeamSite 6.7.1 Service Pack 1
Build Number: 68040

Please tell us the PDF guide where more info about getFilePath() is specified.

Any help in this regard would be appreciated!

I just tried it and it worked for me.

I have a dialog button (which works, but the manual claims it's not supported)

when clicked it calls

function test()
{
alert(IWDatacapture.getDCRPath());
}

and I see the pop up with the path.

I remember reading somewhere that the script section in a metadata datacapture should only contain function declarations and event registration code. If a call to getDCRPath is not within a function, it may produce bad results.

Metatagger is a separate piece of software and generally is installed on a separate server due to processing needs. So Metatagger should not show up in that list as it's not a module for TeamSite. Metatagger is integrated with TeamSite by setting up some configurations in your iw.cfg file and datacapture files.(read the documentation on how to integrate Metatagger and TeamSite for more detail)

As to your issue, 6.7.1 sp1, unfortunately, does not have IWDatacapture.getFilePath() as a function but this is available in 6.7.2 if you decide to upgrade then that function will work. Also you cannot use IWDatacapture.getDCRPath() because with tagging you're more than likely not dealing with a DCR and the value will always return empty string since the file is not a DCR.

Anyway, I'm not sure how you would get the filepath, hopeufully you can find something that works or someone else will post what they've done to get filepath with the Tagger GUI in 6.7.1 sp1. IMO, I would not use the Tagging GUI in 6.7.1 sp1 because it was pretty new still and lacks several things (this being one of them). When we upgrade to 6.7.2 sp1 (or whatever current release is out) we'll probably implement the New Tagger GUI then as it looks to be better fleshed out now.

You can access the JS variable that stores the file to be tagged (for TS 6.7.1 sp1), not supported though I'm sure Smiley Happy
