my $iw_if throws a warning

So I am cleaning up a bunch of TPLs. Getting rid of warnings. I do get these:

"my" variable $iw_if masks earlier declaration in same scope at (eval 98) line 490.
"my" variable $iw_if masks earlier declaration in same scope at (eval 98) line 541.
"my" variable $iw_if masks earlier declaration in same scope at (eval 98) line 596.
"my" variable $iw_iteration masks earlier declaration in same scope at (eval 98) line 681.

Which I assume are if I have nested iw_if or iw_iteration. Is there no way to get rid of these (besides turning warnings off) ?

Are these XML-style PTs or Perl style PTs?
If XML-style - you could probably get rid of the warnings by re-writing the entire thing in Perl (or take a big leap into XSLT if you're on 671SP1).

Mix of both. Hmmm, bill a whole lot of hours to clean up some perl warnings. Maybe. :-)

I think I will leave them. Esp, since we go live in Sept. rewriting all my TPLs (or into XSLT) is not a stellar move. I think I'd turn strict off first.
