Portal page for vap 8.1

There is a page option:

Allow application customization

But if I choose this option, some new added portlet is going to be disappeared on end-user portal page, if I choose lokc page or allow ender user personalization, t hen those new added portlet would display.

Anyone can explain this? I can not find page option explain for allow applicatin customization in portal document as well.

This option is related to OpenText Social Communities. Here's the info from the OTSC Administration and Configuration Guide:

Allow Application Customization — Portal Administrators and Social Communities Workspaces users can make changes to portlet placement. Portal Administrators can make changes from the Portal Console and Social Communities Workspaces Preview mode, while Social Communities users can only make change from Preview mode.

You can find a list of the various applications and display views in Chapter 13 (Appendix A) of the Administration and Configuration Guide which can be found at https://knowledge.opentext.com/knowledge/cs.dll?func=ll&objId=19320113&objAction=browse&viewType=1. In addition, you can easilty create new display views to show customized views of the social content based on different usage analysis criteria.

To get customized layout, I guess I need write a customized jsp, and then create a new displayview point to that JSP? then configure portlet instance to use the new displayview?

Do you know any document tell us how to create a new display view?

The general process for creating new display views for OTSC involves creating new JSPs and registering those JSPs so they're available in the Portlet configuration.
