Hi,
If we have cluster.nodes defined, is viewer.host still used for anything? For what?
thanks, Chinmay
The viewer.host is the host on which the preview application runs.

If you have a clustered preview application the viewer.host and view.port have to be set to the cluster proxy app instance, and the individual cluster instances are required to function as indistinguishable copies.

Viewer.host is also used on the delivery stage when you have a Dynamic Site application using XSL.
Also, if you don't specify cluster.nodes, the internal code assumes the values of viewer.host and port to compound cluster.nodes' value.

Thanks for the responses. I should have added some more info to my question. My issue is that we've a firewall between the prod DA and our CDA servers . The cache web service calls to hosts in cluster.nodes are succeeding but the web service call to the host in viewer.host is failing because of firewall rules.
so question is, will it be ok to not define viewer.host on the live stage so that no cache web service calls happen through it and only cluster.nodes get used?
thanks,
Chinmay
Unfortunately Viewer.host cannot be null, specify one of the cluster nodes here and that should work.
