Is there a way to pull the value list in String Lists?

I want to manipulate the values offline of our popup fields (a sort of prototyping and data collapsing experiment). The Windows client does not allow copy-n-paste of the value list, was wondering if there was another Client or back-end way to get these values.

You can (right click) export the metadata field as XML file and import it back after making the necessary changes. You can use the windows client for this.
