Customizing the ContentInstance page.

Hi,

I am trying to customize the functionality of Content Instance page in V8. When we open the page to create new instance of any CTD, we see the show properties option at the top left. and we see different tabs like General, Versions.. etc. My requirement is to add a new tab there called "XYZ" and display the related content.

Referring a document from older version of Vignette, I somehow managed to display the tab with just the title. But I am unable to render the DIV/Content for tab. Not sure if there are any changes in the newer version. It would be great if you can help me with steps/sample.

Please let me know for more details.

Hi Raza,

The v8 content workspace interface is different, and customizing it is different that AppConsole.

These examples helped me when starting out

I used those examples to create my own customization. Also, from your description - you may be able to avoid customization by adding a new tab and displaying some CTD attribute. This is accomplished in the CTD definition - there's a group column where it'll add new tabs if specified.

Something like the below tab "References" (boxed in red). I am able to display the tab, but not the content. It just displays the blank page.

The entries in my themes-render xml is as below:

I think the one you said is for a particular Content Type (Title, LOB, Content, tabs in the second row, not the one boxed in red). I need to add the one boxed in red "Reference". I somehow managed to add it but unable to display the content, see it is blank. Not sure if I made any mistake in themes render xml.

And this tab will be shown when you click on show properties button on top right (it changed to close properties now).

Are you trying to add the Properties - Reference tab to the main view?

Even though you have the tab coming through you'll have to write some custom code to grab the references - then display them in some fashion.
