iwreset causes webdaemon / servlet engine failure

Hi not a major issue as we have a work arround (rebooting the server) but every time we run iwreset the server always returns :

The Interwoven Web Daemon was unable to contact the Interwoven Servlet Engine. The Interwoven Servlet Engine may be down, or running on an unexpected host or port.

Just curious if anyone else has seen this.

Oh yes,

in my opinion the servletd is not the most stable part of Teamsite and the log-messages are often cryptic. :-(

Most likely there is a problem with the event-subsystem that has failed to start or that has crashed. You won't really notice this until you reset Teamsite which will trigger this log-message.

My first advise would be to check ALL logs (iwtrace, eventsubd, error.log, servletd.log, localhost_log*.txt) and see if this contains any error and try to fix these.

BTW, it would be helpfull to know your platform details (version, os, etc)

To identify the issue, you will want to understand why servletd is not starting correctly. Look at IWHOME/local/logs/iwui/servletd_out.log to see whether error messages identify a particular issue.
