I m trying to call a custom Java code through a URL task in WFM.Can anyone please let me know the syntax in which the URL should be provided to refer the custom Java code written.
what don't you use External task for that?
If i use External task to call a custom java code from WFM , in the Command field of WFM External Task can i specify command like this: java filename? Is this the correct syntax? Can anybody please help me out with the exact syntax.A sample might be of great help.
$IW-HOME/tools/java/bin/java -cp classpath package.classname
classpath
package.classname
In the External task, put the following in command: $IW-HOME/tools/java/bin/java -cp classpath package.classname Replace the classpath with your class path, replace the package.classname with your package and class name.
$IW-HOME
$IW
"-HOME"
$IW_HOME
It may seems a minor thing - but most programming languages do not allow hyphens in their variable names, so $IW-HOME is really the same as $IW plus the string "-HOME" . I assume you actually meant $IW_HOME (underscore, not hyphen) which is a TeamSite System Variable (p. 65 WFM 1.0.1.0 manual)
Thanks Adam, it's my typo mistake. You are absolutely right.
hi, do you know how can i get current workflow instance in externalTask java class?
You should come with exact requirement and scenario with complete environment. Also avoid to cross posting.
hi, if i use URI Task, how can i define the command and variable?$IW-SERVER/iw-cc/urlexternalTask [not so understand]className=classpath package.classname right?
1. I think it should be $IW_SERVER (and not $IW-SERVER) if at all - or just use your server name or localhost.2. It should be ClassName and not className. You can pass variables/params with something like this: $IW_SERVER/iw-cc/urlexternaltask?param1=value1. Alternatively you can set job/task level variables and retrieve them in your Java class.
