Solr, OTSC or Autonomy

We are investigating upgrading from Collab 7.3 to 8.1 and adding on Social Communities.

We have been using Autonomy for years with Collab but understand that OTCS and SOLR can be used with version 8.1 of Collab.

What are the advantages of using one of the other search applications?

Hi Mark,

1. The upgrade path from Collab 7.3 is to Collab 8.0.2. There is no upgrade path to Collab 8.1 from Collab 7.3 as this is specifically used with the Social Community product set which includes OTSC 8.2 and Portal 8.2

2. The search engines for Collab 8.0.2 includes the older Autonomy version (which you're running) Common Search or SOLR search

3. The search engines for Collab 8.1 (used with Social Communities) include SOLR or Common Search

The preferred search engine which we are moving forward with is SOLR,

Between SOLR and OTCS . Both do their job, but SOLR is more lightweight. I would change to SOLR too.
