Unable to commit the content instance. Failed to get database connection

Receiving the following error:

Unable to commit the content instance. Failed to get database connection. Vignette ver 7.6.

This error started after our MSDTC was offline for about a day. MSDTC is back online and verified with Microsoft. Wondering if there is a method to re-establish connectivity. Physical Server has been rebooted along with all services and then the Vignette virtual server.

Does the test connection in weblogic console return success?

Also check VCM logs if there is more information on cause of exception.

The transaction manager (DTC) is the Weblogic Server and it does have a recovery service that might be trying to perform the recovery of the failed distributed transactions while your MS DTC was down.

I've seen a similar error message when I was facing a DB connection pool leakage, you can rule this out by generating a Diagnostics Image in the Weblogic console:

Diagnostic > Diagnostic Images > select 'VgnVCMServer' and collect the package inside your managed server's 'log' folder, use a text editor to analyze the information inside the 'JDBC.img' file.
