Hi All,

When we create or update content in VCM search results are not returned, even though the Search Admin console appears as "Active". I changed the XML Activator status to scheduled for every 20 seconds but still no luck

As per the xml activator the incoming directory is "/opt/seagate/vignette/search/VCM_mgmt" but in that i am not seeing any xml files, i hope xml files has to be accumulated into that folder.

Please let me know if any one of you has solution

If you look in the OTCS console in the Data Flow Manager, under the Interchange Pools, do you see any value in the Pending column greater than one? If so, you may need to restart whichever component shows the Pending value.

Hi Diwakar,

I saw that you have said that the XML’s are not being generated in the XMLInputDirectory, could you please confirm that, edit a single content on VCM and verify if the XML is being generated for that, if not, did you restart the VCM services after the search was configured, if not, could you please do that and re-verify whether XML’s are being generated. And also please check the logs for any errors, especially the VgnVCMRuntime.log.

The folder you've mentioned is everytime empty in my case. As far as I know, files there are consumed by search and then erased. This folder is a shared folder between VCM and Search. If they are on same machine I would check the folder permissions, If not I would check permissions and connectivity.

If everything above is fine and if all services on livelink are running (instead xml activater which stays idle all the time). I would try to run vgncontentindex.
