Preview Problem

Hi All

We upgraded from 6.1 to 6.7.1 SP1, We never had any issues with previewing the file with 6.1 (Win), after 6.7.1 sp1 upgrade, Preview is throwing
"Either Required fields not filled or..." error on valid VFE field. If we save and then preview there's no problem and we can preview without issues. Trying to preview first before saving causing the issue. This is happening with only the newly edited active VFE fields meaning if there are multiple vfe fields on the page, The newly edited vfe field, if active only giving this message, if an older vfe field which was already saved during previous edits was selected then we can preview without issue.
Has anything changed in regards to how preview and save works with 6.7.1 sp1?
Please let me know if anyone has faced this problem with 6.7.1 sp1 or any other version and any thoughts on this Issue, I did a search and couldnot find anything similar.

If you have an onSave handler (or onSaveValid or...) in your form, then it doesn't get called when you click Preview. If that's the case, add a handler for the onPreview event that does the same logic.

I have onPreview handler also .. which gets called properly if you first save the DCR and click preview.

When you have entered something in the VFE and click directly preview, it gives error message that "Either required fields have not been filled out or fields contain invalid values". But If you click save after this error came, save proceeds with no error. Even if you dont save DCR this time and click on Preview link now everything works perfect.

So I think when focus is in VFE and you click preview directly, Teamsite is not able to validate the form and giving this error.

Do you have any ideas why this is happening?

You can try by making VFE as optional item in your datacapture.cfg file, if it is required field.

Does your dcr form loads completely and is the new VFE customised? then you could probably try with the original one.

If I make the VFE optional then there is no issues even if you directly click on Preview link before save.

The VFE I am using in my DCT is the original one and no customizations are made to it.

Are there any other reasons because of which this is happening ?

You mentioned that you have done migration, check if validation been called which is not getting excuted properly

Sorry could not get what you mean in the previous post.

Were you able to find out solution to this problem?? We are facing same issue on TS 6.7.1 SP1.
Can anyone else help?
