What are teamstie wrappers used?

Just wondering if someone can answer that? What I understand is they are simply commands that can be run standalone while providing all the other linked libraries and functionalities that are required to run that function using TS environment.

Please let me know if I missed any thing.

You need to provide a lot more context to your question.
Are you talking about things like iw_cgi_wrapper.cgi? or something else?
What OS are you talking about?
What product version (including SP and/or patches) are you talking about?
etc.

Actually that question was asked by a client without much of the specification. The env there was Windows 2003 platform on TS 6.7+. I believe what he wanted to ask was why the wrapper class is used within teamsite e.g. iw_cgi_wrapper.cgi etc.

To perform impersonation - i.e. so that scripts run via the server (as part of a workflow process, or custom menu item) appear, for all intents and purposes, as-if they were run by the user who is currently logged in rather than the owner of the TeamSite process.

There are, unfortunately, some circumstances (notably on Windows) where the impersonation does not fully work - which is why you might get files last modified by "SYSTEM" - but for the most part it should work.
