How to get the value of iterate instances

I have a replicant that creates a list (

and on the last replicant instance () I want to do something different (add some different HTML).

To do this I want to grab the total number of replicants (using the iterate in some way) and then compare the current instance to the total (e.g. if the current instance number using [iteratation=""] matches the total instance number [iterate] I know I am on the end instance of the replicant and can insert my HTML)... however I cannot find a way to get the total number of instance in a replicant.

any ideas? (I don't want to have to have the user manually tick a box to say this is the last instance!!)

You have to do some perl coding in PT.
Before the iteration on the replicant declare following things:

a counter
a list containing replicant
list size

Now start iterating on replicant and match your validations.

Look the example:

my $length=@list;

$counter++;

I'll try this, thanks. It looks like my efforts previous to this thread may have been my order of declaring the arrays.

a few tweaks to fit it into my existing code but it all worked first time - MANY THANKS FOR THE QUICK RESPONSE : )

I realise now my problem was trying to extract an the array via the iterate var="" - obviously with no success!!

I'm still learning...

Scrap the use of XML tags and go straight to perl code (within <iw_perl>...</iw_perl>) and then it becomes much easier.
Based on previously posted code snippet:

<iw_perl>
my @list = iwpt_dcr_list('dcr.cont.item');
for (my $i = 0; $i < @list; $i++) {
    if ($i == scalar @list) {
        # last value
    }
    else {
        # other values
    }
}
</iw_perl>

If you just want the last item in the array - you can reference it several different ways - though the easiest is just:

$list[-1];

Highlighted fragment makes no sense outside of the "outer" replicant loop.
It's like nested arrays, you have multiple "cont2.item2" sets, one for each "cont1.item1"

Yes, I thought about that and I had it inside the first loop as below, but that didn't help me either.
