I have a request to remove the Actions (Complete links under the Actions heading) column from the Tasks list.

I have successfully removed the column by using the code below (a snippet of ui_cusotm.xml). However, in order to let the master see this column, I need to add it back. I have trouble to add it back using the following code:

Are you making changes from customer_src folder or some other place?
There are three folders for hit and trial.

customer_src (default)
customer_src_new (for hit and trial)
customer_samples_src (interwoven sample)

So, before updating something you should keep its backup. For activating default application run make_toolkit command from customer_src.

Yes I modified ui_custom.xml under custom_src/etc/conf/customer folder and I did run make_toolkit.ipl.

My code only works on the first part, that is removing the column, however, I cannot add it back, that is after I removed it, even the master cannot see this column any more.

becuase you are deleting that item then adding it , it doesnt make sense does it !!.

what u need to do is to remove the delete element and then add role attribute to the second part. you also need to edit the roles files to only have master to be able to access it.
