Exporting site in Management Console

Hello!

I created a site in Management Console. I need to export site from one server to another.

How can I export site to another server without creating a new site, new pages and templates? Is there are anything like export/import site in opentext portal?

Hi, from the command line (<install path>/bin folder) on your WEM server you can simply export the site:

vgnexport -h <host:port> -u <username> -p <password> -t site -n <name of site> -f <path to a zip file>

then import it to another instance of VCM/WEM:

vgnimport h <host:port> -u <username> -p <password> -f <path to exported zip file>

Any objects associated to that site will be included in the package file.

and if you are needing to 'export' an entire VCM/WEM instance you can use VTT (Vignette Transfer Tool). This is a webapp that automatically packages up everything contained in an instance and then 'import' it to another instance. This is useful if you have several sites, content types, templates, etc.
